blog post 4th of july

“You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4th, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.” –Erma Bombeck

What is the 4th of July without a plethora of patriotic celebrations? Check out the link below to see what’s happening all over the Bay Area this weekend.

Getting excited for some fireworks? Keep in mind that Pacifica, San Bruno, Dublin, Newark, Union City, Gilroy, Watsonville, Hollister, San Juan Bautista, Marina, Salinas and Seaside are the only cities in the Bay Area that permit “safe and sane” state-approved fireworks. What exactly are the state-approved fireworks? Take a look by clicking the link below. If you do live in one of these cities, make sure you also review your association’s rules on fireworks before you get your celebration started.

Be safe and responsible this weekend by designating a sober driver, and watch a professional firework celebration instead of attempting your own.

Lastly, in the hustle and bustle of the weekend’s activities, take a moment to thank a military member for their commitment to maintain the freedom you are celebrating.

Have a wonderful 4th of July!
